Former Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach overcame formidable opposition from within his own party to prevail Tuesday as the Republican nominee for state attorney general.
Facing heavy opposition from the state's business interests, Kobach emerged from a three-candidate field to win the Republican nomination for attorney general.
With 85% of the vote tallied, Kobach led the field with 42% of the vote followed by state Sen. Kellie Warren with 38% and former federal prosecutor Tony Mattivi with 20%.
