Republican Attorney General Kris Kobach made a pitch for the Legislature to pass a law barring foreign adversaries from owning land in Kansas, although broader from one that cleared a Senate committee last session.
Appearing before an interim joint committee studying foreign land ownership, Kobach renewed his call for the Legislature to join 24 other states that have enacted laws similar to one Kansas lawmakers considered last year.
"It's a threat to our national security. It's a potential threat to our food supply. It's also a threat to our state's economic future," Kobach told the committee . . .
