With his term coming to an end, Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach's office has prosecuted its last voter fraud case.
The final case has been turned over to Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe to prosecute.
The case against Sergio Salgado-Juarez — two counts of election perjury and one count of voting without qualifying — was filed in August 2017.
It is the last of the 15 cases Kobach brought under a state law passed in 2015 that gave him the ability to prosecute voter fraud. He was the only election official to have the power to prosecute cases . . .
