Kelly vetoes transgender sports bill


For the third consecutive year, Gov. Laura Kelly has vetoed a bill banning transgender female athletes from competing in interscholastic sports for women or girls at any public school or postsecondary educational institution.

"Let’s be clear about what this bill is all about – politics. It won’t increase any test scores. It won’t help any kids read or write," Kelly said in a statement Friday afternoon vetoing the legislation
