Gov.-elect Laura Kelly on Thursday promised a "long and challenging" rebuild of state government, saying she wouldn't let partisanship interfere with improving the lives of Kansas taxpayers.
"This week, Kansans sent a loud and clear message: They want their leaders to work together despite political labels, and that is exactly what I plan to do," Kelly said.
"I will not waste time with taxpayer dollars on partisan fights," she said in her first news conference as governor-elect. "My team is focused on producing results that actually impact the lives of Kansas families."
