Gov. Laura Kelly's communications director Sam Coleman is stepping down to move over to the private sector, ending a roughly18-month run in Kansas.
Coleman is leaving Thursday to take a job in corporate communications with United Airlines after joining the Kelly administration in June 2020.
Kelly named Lauren Fitzgerald her new communications director.
Fitzgerald has been with the governor since her 2018 campaign and joined the communications office after Kelly was elected.
