Gov.-elect Laura Kelly on Tuesday announced her transition team, which includes a former state budget director and a former chief of staff for former Gov. Kathleen Sebelius.

Kelly tapped Joyce Allegrucci, Duane Goossen, Natalie Haag and Jordy Zeigler as the core group who will oversee the transition from Republican Gov. Jeff Colyer.

Allegrucci, served as chief of Staff for Sebelius and served as deputy secretary at the Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services for former Gov. Bill Graves. She is the wife of the late Kansas Supreme Court Justice Donald Allegrucci.

Goossen, a member of the Kansas House for 14 years, worked as secretary of Administration from 2004 to 2011 and budget director from 1998 to 2011. He served on the transition teams for Graves, Sebelius and Gov. Mark Parkinson. He was sharply critical of former Gov. Sam Brownback’s tax cuts.

Haag worked in several roles for Graves, including director of legislative affairs, general counsel and chief of staff. She served on the transition team following his eight-year term. Haag is currently the executive vice president and general counsel for Capitol Federal Savings Bank.

Zeigler piloted the Kelly campaign to victory in the Democratic primary and the general election win over Republican Kris Kobach. Previously, she was the western political director at EMILY’s List and has worked on campaigns nationally.
