Kansas Supreme Court refuses to hear fusion voting case

The Kansas Supreme Court has refused to hear the appeal of a challenge to a state law that bans “fusion candidates” who could represent more than one party on the ballot.

Chief Justice Marla Luckert issued a one-page order without comment rejecting a request for the high court to take up the case immediately and bypass the intermediate appellate court. The case continues before the Kansas Court of Appeals.

United Kansas Inc., a new political party that brought the lawsuit, argued that failure to "vindicate" its right in this matter in a timely manner could snuff out any chance . . .
