A top aide to Senate President Susan Wagle is joining the Kansas Republican Party as its new executive director.
The GOP has hired Shannon Golden as executive director, filling the position once held by Jim Joice, who is now spokesman for Congressman Steve Watkins.
Golden has served the communications director for Wagle since January 2018.
She has a master's degree in journalism from Boston University.
She earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Ind.
