The Kansas Chamber of Commerce is taking a rare - if not unprecedented - step of trying to intervene in Evergy's case for raising electric rates for the first time in five years.
The chamber, along with an assortment of governments and other heavy power users, is asking state regulators to allow it to take part in the rate case now before the Kansas Corporation Commission.
