The Kansas Chamber of Commerce is putting its political muscle behind legislation that's intended to help lure the Chiefs to Kansas.
The Legislature is lining up to consider a bill at the June 18 special session that would expand a lucrative tax incentive known as STAR bonds so it would be available for a professional sports team.
"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Kansas," said Alan Cobb, president and CEO of the chamber.
"The state’s STAR bond economic development tool was designed precisely for this type of high-traffic attraction," Cobb said.
