UPDATED: Judge promises swift ruling on whether to delay new KanCare contracts

A Shawnee County judge on Friday promised to rule "very quickly" on whether to stop the state from moving ahead with the new Medicaid program until a judicial review is completed of how the contracts were awarded.

District Judge Thomas Luedke heard testimony for more than four hours Friday on whether he should temporarily halt the implementation of a new Medicaid program in 2025 with three new contractors.

Aetna for Better Health, whose contract was not renewed when the Medicaid contracts were awarded in May, is SSJ
