House Republican precinct leaders will convene next week to choose from at least three candidates seeking to replace the late state Rep. Russ Jennings in the Legislature.

Former Congressional candidate and Finney County Commissioner Bill Clifford, fellow Finney County Commissioner Lon Pishny and Lakin attorney Kenny Estes are among those who have expressed an interest in the western Kansas seat.

Clifford, who chairs the Finney County Republican Party, said precinct leaders will gather at Garden City Community College on Nov. 17 to pick a new representative for the 122nd House District seat.
