Former longtime Republican state Rep. Steve Huebert of Valley Center on Friday filed to run for the House seat that will come open with Carl Maughan's decision not to seek reelection.
Huebert filed for the House District 90 seat, which covers all or parts of Colwich, Maize, Park City, Valley Center and Wichita.
Once chair of the House Education Committee, Huebert is running again for the seat that he held from 2001 to 2023.
