House Speaker Dan Hawkins on Tuesday announced several committee changes to start the new legislative session.
Hawkins announced four changes that will affect the House tax, utilities, insurance and elections committees.
Republican state Rep. Samantha Poetter Parshall of Paola is coming off the utilities and tax committees at the start of the session.
Poetter Parshall said she requested the changes because the committees meet at times when she couldn't find day care for her 9-month-old child who was born six weeks early and suffered from several medical issues after birth.
Poetter Parshall expressed appreciation to the speaker . . .
