House approves NRA-based gun safety program

The Kansas House on Thursday approved a bill requiring the state school board to establish curriculum guidelines for a standardized firearm safety education program that would include the National Rifle Association-crafted Eddie Eagle GunSafe program.

The House voted 78-43 to approve the bill, six votes short of the 84 needed to override a veto. The Senate has already votedSSJ
