Newly nominated House Speaker Dan Hawkins announced his new committee chairs and vice chairs on Thursday afternoon with many new chairs replacing lawmakers who lost their reelection bids or decided to retire.
Hawkins has created a new committee that will focus on legislative modernization while he split the Children and Seniors Committee into two. One committee will be dedicated to child welfare and foster care, and the other will be focused on welfare reform.
