Gov. Laura Kelly on Wednesday signed the new emergency management bill that gained bipartisan support although not everyone was completely satisified with the legislation.
Kelly signed the bill, which extends her existing emergency declaration to May 28 although the executive orders she issued related to the pandemic will be revoked March 31.
The governor immediately announced that she would reissue 12 executive orders on April 1 - including a statewide mask mandate - that will remain in place until the emergency declaration ends or the orders are rescinded.
