Gov. Laura Kelly on Thursday named former state Rep. Melissa Rooker as the new executive director of the Kansas Children’s Cabinet and Trust Fund.
The governor also named Kim Moore as the new chair of the agency, which has an operations budget of $1.6 million and doles out another $19 million for various children's programs across the state.
“I worked closely with Rep. Rooker for many years and know her to be a steadfast advocate for Kansas children and families with a depth of knowledge on the issues impacting our children,” Kelly said in a statement.
