Gaming regulators make no commitment about start date for sports wagering

Kansas gaming regulators are making no commitments about when sports wagering will start with a series of administrative hurdles still needing to be cleared before bettors can roll the dice on their favorite sports team.

"We're clicking right along, but giving you specific dates as of yet, we just can't do as much as we want to," Kansas Lottery Executive Director Stephen Durrell told the Lottery Commission on Wednesday afternoon.

The new sports wagering law authorizes betting at the state’s four casinos and allows each of them to have three mobile apps for placing bets.
