Former state Senate President Steve Morris, one of the last leading moderate Republican voices in Kansas politics, died Saturday at his home. He was 79.
Morris' former chief of staff in the Senate, Michael White, confirmed Morris' death late Saturday night.
"I was saddened to hear of Steve’s passing," said White, now executive vice president of the Kansas Contractors Association.
