Former Royals star to appear at House fundraiser

Former Kansas City Royals all-star Alex Gordon will appear at a fundraiser for the House Republican caucus next week at a cocktail reception in Leawood.

Gordon, a 14-year veteran of the Royals who retired in 2020, will appear at the event set for Hallbrook Country Club on Sept. 23, according to a copy of the invitation obtained by the Sunflower State Journal.

Gordon is the third Kansas City sports celebrity to publicly get involved in Kansas politics this year.
