Former Kelly cabinet secretary to lead Kauffman Foundation

The former secretary of the the Department of Administration under Gov. Laura Kelly has been named as the next chief executive of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.

DeAngela Burns-Wallace, who left at the start of Kelly's second term as governor, will start her new position on Aug. 7. Her appointment as CEO and president of the foundation was announced Tuesday.

Burns-Wallace led the Department of Administration from June 2019 through January of this year. She also has served as the state’s chief technology officer and oversaw the Office of Information Technology.
