Finch hires new chief of staff

House Speaker Pro Tem Blaine Finch has hired Michael Murray as his new chief of staff, replacing former Ottawa city commissioner Emily Graves.

Murray moves over to the House from the Senate where he had been chief of staff for Senate Vice President Jeff Longbine, who opted not to run for leadership again.

Murray served as campaign manager for Attorney General Derek Schmidt’s 2018 successful reelection campaign as well as campaign manager for Republican state Sen. Caryn Tyson in
her primary election bid for the 2nd District Congressional seat.
