The state Ethics Commission on Wednesday fined the Senate president's communications director for using public assets to send out a news release endorsing Kris Kobach for governor.
The commission fined Shannon Golden $1,000, which will be reduced to $100 if it's paid out of Senate President Susan Wagle's campaign fund. The maximum fine is $5,000. The reduced fine also is contingent upon Wagle lining up ethics training for her staff.
At issue was a news release that Golden sent out on July 25 . . .
