Debbie Luper, described as a "pillar" in Kansas politics, has retired as the district director for U.S. Rep. Ron Estes.
Luper had been Estes' district director for eight years and managed his campaign for Congress in the 4th District in 2017.
She has been replaced by Roman Rodriguez, who has served as Estes' press secretary.
Estes regarded Luper as a "friend" and fellow "fiscal hawk."
"How can I possibly frame up the service and political activities of Debbie Luper in one short floor speech?" Estes said recently on the House floor.
