UPDATED: Elections panel keeps Wichita Republican on the ballot

The state Objections Board on Monday rejected a request to boot a Wichita statehouse candidate from the ballot for allegedly misrepresenting where he lives.

Democratic state Rep. Vic Miller - representing Democrat Monica Marks in the 85th District - called for the board to remove Republican Michael Capps from the ballot.

The board's decision was significant because no other Republican filed to run in the 85th District, which leans heavily Republican. A decision against Capps would have meant the Democrats would have picked up a seat in the Kansas House . . .
