The state's hospitality industry is in a dogfight with the Agriculture Department at the Capitol.
The Kansas Restaurant & Hospitality Association is urging lawmakers to pass a law that would allow dogs in microbreweries.
The bill arises from the case of a Shawnee brewery where dogs had become part of the establishment's culture - until last year when a state inspector informed management dogs wouldn't be allowed in the tap room.
Dogs had become an integral part of Transport Brewery, which during the last four years donated nearly $15,000 through adoption events, yearly fundraisers and their end . . .
