Attorney General Kris Kobach on Friday left open the possibility that he might not try to stop Gov. Laura Kelly from suing the federal government if it withholds millions from the state because her administration won't turn over food-assistance data it is seeking.
Kobach was asked to address whether he would keep the governor from suing the U.S. Department of Agriculture as the state Supreme Court on Friday heard oral arguments for about two hours in a lawsuit over whether the governor has the power to bring litigation.
