Commerce fights back against Clayton allegations

The Kansas Commerce Department on Thursday said allegations made by a former Commerce Department staffer who vanished amid a criminal investigation and was later found dead are false.

For the first time, the Commerce Department addressed allegations made by Jonathan Clayton, who accused Commerce Secretary David Toland of developing a “scheme” to direct federal COVID relief funds to certain parts of the state.
