Chief of staff for House Democrats to depart

The chief of staff for the top Democrat in the House is stepping aside with the minority party's leadership set to change after this year.

R.J. Wilson's last day is expected to be Feb. 24. He returned to the statehouse in 2023 after state Rep. Vic Miller of Topeka was elected the Democratic leader in the House.

Miller is now running for the Kansas Senate, and party leadership in the House will change after this fall's election.
