Republican state Rep. Patrick Penn of Wichita is resigning from the Legislature, although his next step was not immediately known.
Penn sent a letter announcing his intention to resign to the governor's office, Republican leadership in the House, GOP leaders in Sedgwick and Butler counties as well as the 4th Congressional District.
"Whatever God has planned for me, our family’s shared vision for a prosperous Kansas and our core values of faith, family, and service will always travel with and guide me" Penn wrote in his letter.
