The last in a series of eight bills aimed at placing limits on renewable energy development in Kansas died in a Senate committee Thursday.
The Senate tax committee refused to move ahead with a bill to repeal a 10-year property tax exemption for wind energy.
Republican state Sen. Virgil Peck, the committee's vice chair, tried unsuccessfully to package a second bill placing limits on renewable energy development with the tax bill.
