Bill banning DL gender marker changes expanded to government bathrooms

A House committee late Monday afternoon approved an expanded bill that would bar transgender people from using government restrooms and locker rooms that don't align with their biological sex.

The amended bill now requires state and local governments to designate restrooms, locker rooms and changing rooms for use based on someone's biological sex.

State and local governments would be at risk of significant penalties if they didn't comply with the law.

The House judiciary committee voted 9-7  to rework a bill that started out as legislation . . .
