Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt is asking Gov. Laura Kelly to withdraw a policy that extends the timeline for providing food-assistance benefits to adults who aren’t working and who don’t have children.
In a letter hand-delivered to the governor's office on Monday, Schmidt requested that the governor rescind the policy by this Friday or he would ask a judge to determine if the policy enacted by the Department for Children and Families is legal.
