Americans for Prosperity on Tuesday bolstered Republican Derek Schmidt's conservative credentials when it backed the former attorney general in the congressional race for Kansas' 2nd District.
AFP backed Schmidt over his major challengers in the Republican primary, Jeff Kahrs and Shawn Tiffany. All three are seeking to replace U.S. Rep. Jake LaTurner, who is not seeking reelection this year.
