Abortion opponent goes to court over ballot drop boxes

A longtime abortion rights opponent has personally filed a lawsuit in Sedgwick County seeking to stop the use of ballot drop boxes unless election officials come up with a plan for ensuring that no more than 10 ballots are dropped in the receptacle by an individual.

Mark Gietzen, who has a history of being fined by the state ethics commission, personally filed the lawsuit against the secretary of state and the Sedgwick County election commissioner without legal representation.
