Health insurers that provide coverage on the Affordable Care Act exchanges for 1430,000 Kansans are seeking rate increases for 2027, setting off worries that more people will lose health care coverage next year.
Six insurers – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, UnitedHealthcare, Celtic Insurance, Oscar Insurance, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City and Bankers Reserve Life Insurance - have filed requests for average rate increases ranging from 15.38% to 34.8%.
