A package of reforms that would rein in the middlemen who manage prescription drug plan benefits for insurers and employers is moving through the Kansas Legislature just after Congress approved new regulations nationally.
A Senate committee has already approved a tighter set of regulations for pharmacy benefit managers, which serve as a bridge between drug manufacturers, pharmacies, health plans and patients. The bill awaits action in the Senate. The bill could be heard this week.
