(Updated to include new report filed by Democratic state Sen. Cindy Holscher)
The race for Kansas governor is marked by millions of dollars in self-financing in the early days of the campaign.
New reports filed over the last several days with the secretary of state's office show that Republican candidates funneled about $5.6 million of their own money into the governor's race out of about $9.4 million raised.
The largest self-funder was Republican Johnson County businessman Philip Sarnecki, who put a little more than $2 million of his own money into his campaign.
