Senate approves pronoun bill

The Kansas Senate on Wednesday approved a bill that prevents any school district employee from addressing a minor or student with a pronoun inconsistent with their biological sex without their parents' permission.

The Senate voted 26-14 to approve a bill that prohibits school employees from using a name other than the one listed on their birth certificate – or a derivative of the name – without their parents' permission.
