Democratic state Rep. Brandon Whipple said Wednesday morning that he's planning to run for mayor of Wichita.
Whipple, now in his fourth term representing District 96 in the Kansas House, confirmed that he has filed paperwork appointing a campaign treasurer.
"Wichita is at a pivotal moment and with the right leadership we can ensure our best days lie ahead," Whipple said in a email.
