Trump podcaster with fraud background won’t testify at election hearing

A Trump podcaster who was found to have violated consumer protection laws in North Dakota for fraud will not testify next week before a legislative committee on voting machine integrity.

Republican state Sen. Mike Thompson, chair of the special committee on elections, said Tore Maras will not appear before his committee on Sept. 29 as originally planned.

"You just don't want a sideshow of problems," said Thompson, alluding to Maras' legal issues in North Dakota where a judge entered a default fraud judgment against her.

Thompson said it wasn't his idea to bring Maras in to testify before . . .
