Three candidates line up to fill Mason’s seat at special session

Precinct leaders from the 73rd House District are hurrying to fill a House seat to replace the late state Rep. Les Mason of McPherson in time for the upcoming special session.

A convention of precinct committee persons has been called for Monday night to pick someone to serve out Mason's 6 1/2 months in office, including the upcoming special session to address tax cuts and tax incentives to bring the Chiefs and Royals to Kansas.
