Task force faced with mountain of spending plans for COVID relief money

A special task force charged with parceling out federal COVID-19 relief money is faced with sorting through as much as about $1.1 billion in spending proposals, more than twice the money the state has left available to distribute.

The executive committee of the SPARK task force - short for Strengthening People and Revitalizing Kansas - has been presented with projects from four advisory committees in how the COVID relief money should be spent.
