Sunday Reader: E-Verify passes; election bill idling


Good morning everyone:

Well, we hit a wall Friday with so much happening simultaneously as the Legislature dealt with a number of complex and controversial issues ranging from transgender athletes, the budget, school choice, unemployment and embattled Sen. Gene Suellentrop being forced out as Senate majority leader.

It was an all-consuming day on Friday and we are running on empty, especially after we did an overnighter Thursday at the Capitol stretched out between two chairs for a short nap. The Capitol can be a lonely place at 4 a.m. without 165 lawmakers.
