Republican state Sen. Mark Steffen plans to run for Republican national committeeman, saying he wants to end self-serving, deal-making politics.
In an announcement posted on his Facebook page late Friday, Steffen announced his campaign to challenge former state Rep. Mark Kahrs of Wichita.
The election for the position will be held next year.
"This is about servant leadership, strong leadership and not self service, which is what we've seen slipping into our governance system," he said in a video
