Kansas may get the chance to join the sports-betting frenzy that many expect will sweep across the country if the U.S. Supreme Court agrees to expand the wagering action from a limited number of states.
A bill, sponsored by state Rep. Jan Kessinger of Overland Park, would authorize sports betting in Kansas if it’s ultimately allowed by the Supreme Court.
The high court heard a case brought by New Jersey, which argues that a federal law limiting sports betting to four states is unconstitutional. A decision is due later this year.
