A special House committee on Friday started sorting through what happened on the House floor when Republican state Rep. Nick Hoheisel called out Democratic state Rep. Ford Carr for a race-related remark made during debate on a bill.
The special committee appointed by the House Speaker Dan Hawkins heard from both Wichita lawmakers Friday as it evaluates a complaint lodged by Carr against Hoheisel. The committee expects to meet again Monday.
