Committees in the House and Senate are scheduled to hold long-awaited hearings on Medicaid expansion next week.

Key lawmakers in both chambers said Monday that hearings will be held March 20. The Senate will hold a hearing in the morning. The House will hold a hearing in the afternoon.

The Senate hearing will be a combination of the Ways and Means Committee and the health committee. It will chaired by Republican state Sen. Carolyn McGinn of Sedgwick.

The House health committee, chaired by Republican state Rep. Brenda Landwehr of Wichita, also will hear testimony on expansion.
